Ever find yourself dreaming about a country you’ve never visited but you’ve seen so many photos and taken it all in virtually (and literally throughout books and stories) that you just imagine the breath it will take away when you finally get a chance to go? That’s my brain. And this was from my first time in Italy last May.
My fear with traveling to Italy was that it wouldn’t live up the expectations I built up about it in my head. Well, let’s just say that totally not the case for me and considering the Cowboy and I were looking up real estate in Positano by the end of the trip, it’s safe to say it’s by far one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. Note: We were more like looking up and dreaming about real estate. There’s probably a difference! 😉
I have so many things to say about Italy and my love for this beautiful Country but I wanted to capture a short segment for you to chat about 3 things you just have to do/experience while on the coast of Italy.
1.- Swirl the Glass Wine Tour on the Amalfi Coast. If it’s good enough for Justin Timberlake, it’s good enough for me. So I first read about Swirl the Glass because it was a private wine tour with incredible ratings and oh, the man who brought sexy back just happened to also write about it. (Years prior mind you.)
Swirl the Glass was the perfect little romantic wine tour complete with an authentic homemade Italian meal right there on site. It was worth every ounce of the winding drive up the mountain to get there! 😉 Pro Tip: If you get super car sick like me, have your driver stop and get you a lemon for the road. Literally scratch the lemon and just breathe it in. SOOOOO GOOOD!
2.- Visit Nana Positano and get yourself a pair (or two) of handcrafted sandals. They custom make gorgeous leather sandals, dresses and what they are known for which are these extravagant and oh so unbelievably beautiful jeweled sandals. Endless options to customize and creating the perfect customized sandal to take home was so much fun for this shoe obsessed gal!
3.- An obvious one I suppose but definitely make reservations and grab dinner with a view. It’s required to drink some incredible wine and take deep breaths to soak in all of the scenery around you. Literally, soak it up y’all.
One of our favorites was Ristorante La Sponda, but truly there are so many great ones to enjoy! I have got to get back there and eat more so I can do an entirely new post and actually write down places we went! 😉
I’m sure I will come back to some of these posts to expand and give more details on specific cities we visited, things we enjoyed and hopefully more, but for now, thanks for reading this snippet! Ciao Bellas!
