A tropical cocktail recipe
Dream with me for a moment. Imagine your hair softly blowing in the wind, the sounds of waves crashing wet at your feet, the saltwater hitting your lips and the sun is pouring onto your face…pretend you’re on the beach! A good book in hand and this boozy Piña Colada in the other.
I’m clearly missing traveling right now, exploring, dreaming and de-stressing. We actually had a couples trip planned for tomorrow, but we’re safe inside and that’s a blessing so I’m using my imagination and just pretending the saltwater is close by… For now, I’ll grab my boozy cocktail, my swimmy suit and maybe a good book and dye our bathtub water blue…
I didn’t really know what to call this recipe, it’s a mix between the Painkiller cocktail and a great Piña Colada, but made Marsais style with a little extra rum because, duh! 😉 That’s the boozy part! 😉
I love pineapple and coconut anything but I really don’t love my drinks extra sweet. I feel like the combination of dark and sweet rums and the addition of coconut cream makes this a simple to make kinda beachy tropical, cocktail without being too heavy or sweet!
Honestly, this drink is perfect without it but to me, it’s missing the cute pineapple slice on top. It hurts my heart that it’s not there but I’m not a food blogger and that’s not where I am headed so just forgive me and my lack of pineapple, ok? I digress. Maybe I’ll update the photos with the cute little fruit slices later. I think that will make me feel better! For now, colorful beachy umbrellas will do.
I originally made this recipe in a large pitcher, so as with any drink recipe, adjust to taste and let me know what you think! 😉 Super easy to make and hopefully even more fun to enjoy!
Happy weekend friends!
