That sentence doesn’t even feel real but it’s true friends. This will be my 4th and final time heading to the hospital to deliver a little babe (OMG he’s almost here!) and I gathered all my absolute must-haves to share with you for the hospital stay and postpartum care!
WHAT I’M PACKING FOR THE HOSPITAL
FOR MOM AND BABY:
- Ultra Cozy Blanket
- Nipple Cream
- Comfy Pajamas (I’d bring at least 2 sets)
- Earbuds
- Slippers I love this style or these for easy wear to slip on and off
- Nursing Bras if you plan to BF
- Feeding Pillow
- Vitamins My go-to this entire pregnancy until I switch to the postpartum vitamins later this month. Use code MARSAIS for 10% off your first 3 months!
- Lipcare
- Carseat Installed (Ready and installed. Do not bring inside the hospital)
- Postpartum Underwear
- Postpartum Essentials like Honey Pot pads, Frida Bottle, Ice packs, etc. Pro Tip: Don’t open everything so you can return anything you don’t end up using! 😉
- Hospital Bag / Cute duffle
- Loose and comfortable clothing for leaving the hospital
- Newborn Outfit (One or two max)
- Other Essentials: Simple Makeup, Shampoo and Conditioner, Soap you love and your own TOWEL! Trust me! I brought this one.
- Laptop/Ipad
- Extended Phone Cable
- Snacks
- Camera/Mini Tripod
- Swaddles
- Dry Shampoo
- Small makeup bag (for getting refreshed if you feel like it! I always keep it super simple but it’s so nice to just feel a little jazzed up)
FOR DAD:
- His own Pillow
- Blanket for Him
- Change of Clothes
- Bathroom Essentials
- Sweatshirt in case it gets cold
- Phone Charger for him so you don’t have to share
- Snacks. Because duh 😉
I saw another post about bringing nurse care kits for the labor and delivery nurses (one for each shift) and I thought it was genius because they for sure deserve a little lovin’ too so I made some as well! (And a couple extra because I literally didn’t know how long I’d be there!)
